Information
Eskom Expo for Young Scientists gives South African youth the opportunity to be inspired by science and technology, and to share their findings and enthusiasm with fellow learners and with the adjudicators, whose role it is to further encourage and coach. Moreover, by arranging expositions, Eskom Expo provides the platform on which these learners can display their work, not only spreading the message of science to others, but building their communication skills and self-confidence.
Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is an exposition, or science fair, where learners have a chance to show others their projects about their own scientific investigations. At Expo, learners can discuss their work with teachers and learners from other schools, with parents and with other interested people. There also may be other events happening at Expo such as demonstrations, talks and quizzes.
Eskom Expo has categories for both juniors (Grades 8 & 9) and Seniors (Grades 10, 11 & 12). There are also categories for learners from primary schools. Learners can enter their own individual projects, or two learners can work together and enter a group project. Eskom Expo has up to 23 different subject categories related to science and technology.
